I almost broke both my legs watching Homecoming while running on a treadmill. I can’t dance, and this film made me want to dance. Beyonce assembled an incredibly talented group of people. The performance has an orchestra, drumline, and many skilled dancers and singers. There are a lot of special guests too, including Jay-Z, Beyonce’s sister Solange, and a Destiny’s Child reunion. And, of course, Beyonce kills it with her phenomenal vocals, dance moves, and overall presence. The behind-the-scenes clips were an excellent addition that added a lot of great depth to the epic Coachella show. I’m blown away and so happy this is available on Netflix for many people to view. Representation matters.

Do you want to watch some documentaries? Here are reviews for RBG, Whitney, and Love, Gilda.

Here’s the new trailer for Avengers: Endgame

Natasha’s hair continually changing in the trailer indicates major gaps in the timeline (her natural hair color is red), Hawkeye is wearing Ronin’s attire, and everyone seems to be wearing Quantum Realm suits. I’m very excited to see Captain Marvel and Thor working together, but I’m equally eager to see Rocket on War Machines shoulder.

Will Bruce Banner finally unleash the Hulk? Will they time travel? Will more Avengers die? Who will come back to life? Will Thanos kick the dust? We only have a month to go, and hopefully, all of our questions are answered!

Dating Around

Dating Around is the perfect Netflix show to watch if you are in the mood for a dating show without the game show style twists. It’s an easy binge because each episode is less than thirty minutes long and there are only six episodes in season one. Each episode follows an individual who has five different dates. They can only pick one person to go on a second date later.

The editing is on point. The focused person seems to be simultaneously dating five different people on the same night. They are wearing the same outfit and have the same date spots with each person. It’s interesting to see how similar the conversations are and the editing mashes conversation pieces over multiple date interactions. It’s interesting seeing who clicks and who doesn’t and trying to guess who they choose for the second date. I didn’t guess right on any of them!

My favorite dater was Leonard. He’s an older gentleman who is a widower. His dates were very adorable. I laughed multiple times when none of them brought their glasses, and they needed help reading the menu. Dating Around is worth watching if you need something tame and lighthearted to watch after a stressful day.

Abducted in Plain Sight is incredibly frustrating and shocking. It’s a true story about a young girl who was kidnapped and sexually molested by a close family friend. The family friend, referred to as B, was friends with the parents of the abducted girl, Jan. Without spoiling too much, B manipulates both of the parents which allows him to have a lot of private time with their pre-teen daughter. Jan thought of B as a second father, and then as she aged, she believed she wanted to marry him. Jan is still alive and realized what had happened to her when she had her sixteenth birthday.  Abducted in Plain Sight is worth a watch but be prepared to pause every couple minutes to yell at Jan’s awful parents who did very little to protect their child.

Here’s the Alexa commercial that aired during Super Bowl LIII. I love the Alexa dog collar.

Here’s the Game of Thrones trailer featuring The Mountain killing Bud Knight and Drogon lighting up the crowd.

Watching the Super Bowl made me realize why I don’t watch football in general. What a snooze fest. My takeaways include everyone being cool with Adam Levine ripping his shirt off during the halftime show but were in a complete uproar over Janet Jackson’s nip slip, the Alexa commercial, and the Game of Thrones commercial featuring The Mountain killing the ridiculous Bud Knight.

Hello!

Wow! I haven’t posted in awhile. I’m still here, folks. I’m finishing up my bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication. My love for blogging led to me going to school for writing. Going to school for writing involves a lot of writing, as you can imagine, and I haven’t had a lot of time to keep my blog up to date.

I’ll mention some of the stuff I’ve watched recently. I binged You last weekend. It aired on Lifetime over the Fall season last year. Netflix bought the show and season 2 will stream on Netflix. You can stream season 1 of You on Netflix now. It’s about a guy who stalks a girl, and they eventually start dating. He manipulates her entire life without her knowing. There’s a book too, which is now added to my never-ending TBR list.

I binged the Tidying Up with Marie Kondo show on Netflix. My new Samsung TV doesn’t have Hulu Live. It has the old Hulu version, so I’ve been watching a lot more Netflix lately. Tidying Up was great for me to watch because I’m in the middle of unpacking. My husband and I bought our first house, and we are still living in a mountain of boxes. But now all of my sheets are folded Marie Kondo style, and I’m questioning all of my Tupperware with missing lids.

I also jumped on the Bandersnatch and Bird Box wagon. I loved both. I haven’t watched anything I haven’t liked in a while.

As for books, I’m on the last book of the Aurora Teagarden series. They are murder mystery books written by the True Blood author Charlaine Harris. The stories follow the darling librarian Aurora in her small Georgia town where a lot of drama and murder seems to occur.

More blogging once I’m finished with my last class! Happy watching and happy new year!

Netflix is on a roll with Rom Coms. Sierra Burgess is a Loser has Barb from Stranger Things and Peter from To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. It feels like an 80’s movie with some modern catfishing elements. Watch it if you want to feel warm and fuzzy.
